Sam Braddock is an ex-special forces officer of Canada's Joint Task Force 2 (JTF 2). After he was involved in an Afghan mission gone wrong, he leaves the military and joins the Strategic Response Unit (SRU). At first, the tight-knit group of Team One has trouble accepting Sam, but as the series goes on, Sam becomes another valued member of the team. Due to his experience in Afghanistan, Sam believes that lethal force is always the solution rather than negotiating. His focus on using lethal force is often viewed with objection by his teammates.
